Frequently Asked Questions

Youth ages 8-20 with at least one year of experience on a string instrument or at least 2-3 years on a wind/brass/percussion instrument.

VYS/SAYS greatly appreciates tuition payments in cash or by check.  Credit card payments can be made online at the end of registration.

Tuition rates paid by credit card are slightly higher to include processing fees. 

Cash or check payments can be made at designated practices. (Emails will go out with tuition collection dates.)  Please put payments in an envelope with student(s) names on it.

Our rehearsals happen at Mica Mountain High School in the band room.  Periodically, we have to practice at an alternate location due to Mica Mountain not being available.  We will send out information about alternate practice locations and remind students at practice.

Our concerts are NOT at Mica Mountain High School.  Information will be emailed out regarding the time and location for each concert.

Rehearsals are typically held every Monday night from 6 – 8 p.m. throughout the school year. There will be no rehearsals on non-school days, according to the Vail School District Student High School Calendar.

SAYS performs 2 concerts a year- typically in early December for the Fall Semester and early May for the Spring Semester.
